Yuzhny seaport (Odessa region), the largest port in Ukraine in terms of transshipment, in January-July increased cargo handling by 6.4% YoY, to 25.29 million tons.
According to live data from the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority, the port in the seven months boosted transshipment of exported cargo by 7.5%, to 19.37 million tons, imported freight by 31.1%, to 3.29 million tons, while transshipment of transit goods decreased by 5%, to 2.61 million tons, and short sea goods 16.4-fold, to 30,000 tons.
According to the types of cargo, the port during this period reduced transshipment of liquid cargo by 13.2%, to 2.06 million tons, but increased the handling of dry bulk goods by 8.1%, to 22.55 million tons, and packaged goods by 26.7%, to 690,000 tons.
As reported, in the first half of 2017 Yuzhny port increased cargo transshipment by 7.3%, to 22.105 million tons, in particular exported freight by 8.7%, to 17 million tons, imported goods by 31%, to 3 million tons, while transshipment of transit cargo decreased by 10.4%, to 2.087 million tons.
