The grain harvest has started in four regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Almaty and Kyzylorda regions.
According to Kazakhstan’s Ag Ministry, farmers in the above regions harvested 659.1 KMT from 335 thousand ha (59% of the planned 567.6 thousand ha) as of July 31. The average yield is 1.97 MT/ha.
As of the same date last year, the respective figures there equaled 730.6 KMT, 338.6 thousand ha (63.5%) and 2.16 MT/ha.
The Ag Ministry forecasts Kazakhstan’s harvest at some 19 MMT this year, with its export potential estimated at up to 9 MMT. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
