Italian company COF SpA and Minsk greenhouse vegetable company will set up a joint enterprise to produce lettuce in Belarus, according to the website of the National Agency of Investment and Privatization.
During the ceremony to sign the relevant agreement, Francesco Barbieri, the head of COF SpA, said that he believed that this cooperation was of great importance to the company as it offered access to new markets.
“We have enough experience and knowledge that we can share with one of the biggest Belarusian producers of green groceries,” he noted.
For his part, Andrei Guminsky, deputy director general at Minsk greenhouse vegetable company, expressed confidence that the cooperation with the Italian partners would create new opportunities and prospects for the Belarusian enterprise.
The signing of the agreement of intent to establish a joint enterprise was facilitated by the National Agency of Investment and Privatization.
COF SpA is one of the leading producers of green groceries in Italy with an annual turnover of some EUR 16 million.
Minsk greenhouse vegetable company produces cucumbers, lettuce, and other green groceries all year round using a supplementary lighting system. The enterprise has a production capacity of some 30,000 hundredweights of green groceries per year. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
