Negotiations are in progress on selling the first batch of Belarusian electric buses to Moscow, Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus Alexander Shumilin reported on June 29.
The Russian side demonstrates a strong interest in Belarusian electric transport, said the official.
“We have already supplied some buses for test runs. Their performance parameters are available. Work is now in progress to sell a batch of electric buses to Moscow. Reaching other regions of Russia is a future possibility,” said Alexander Shumilin.
The low environmental impact of electric transport is its key advantage.
“Electric buses do not pollute the environment. They are not tied with wires to their route. A bus takes five to seven minutes to charge at a recharging station and uses electricity as motive power in between stops,” said the official.
Alexander Shumilin also said that the first sample of Belarusian electric cars would be presented by September. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
