It is possible to reduce the cost of gas for the end-consumer by introducing a competition on the gas market and an energy efficiency reform, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Hennadiy Zubko said during an Hour of questions to the government.
“How can we reduce the cost of gas? There are two options. First of all, we have to create a gas market. As of today, there is one monopoly company, and there are 15 million Ukrainian households that receive gas. It is necessary to create competition on the market and then reduce the price of gas,” Zubko said.
The energy efficiency should become the second direction of the work, according to Zubko.
“We can control the amount of gigacalories only with to the energy efficiency reform,” the deputy prime minister said. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
