Higher administrative court of Ukraine upheld the ruling of the court of a lower instance under which the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine is obliged to accept 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas made in 2006 as a tax lien from public joint-stock company Ukrnafta, the company’s press service has reported.
“The court ruled that the State Fiscal Service acting as a defender did not have legal grounds not to accept 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, the cost of which today exceeds UAH 15 billion,” Ukrnafta said.
As reported, Ukrnafta is trying to collect this amount of gas from Ukrtransgaz.
According to the national joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy, Ukrtransgaz did not sign a contract to store these 2 billion cubic meters of gas and did not accept this amount of gas for storage. Thus, the company does not have ground to transfer this gas to Ukrnafta. (Interfax/Business World Magazine)
