It will no longer be necessary to prepare land border plan for entry of land units in the Land Book. It will help save budget funds, as it will not be necessary to perform land-measuring actions, as reported by Saeima press-service.
This is provided by amendments to the Law on State and Municipal Land Ownership, which were conceptually approved by the Saeima on January 19.
Instead of a land border plan for state-owned pieces of land on which the state border stands, it will be allowed to submit information from the state cadastral system regarding the total size and location.
Authors of the draft note that acquisition of data from the cadastral system is much cheaper than performing land-measuring: costs decline from EUR 750 to EUR 51.20 per 1 km. It can help save more than EUR 720,000.
The total length of the territory registered in the Land Book as bordering Russia, Belarus and Lithuania is more than 1,040 km.
Changes to the law will have to be reviewed in the second and third reading by the Legal Affairs Committee and the Saeima. (BNN/Business World Magazine)
