This is provided for by the methodology for appraisal of quality of milk and dairy products approved by the government. It comes into effect in 2 years after being published in Monitorul Oficial.
The methodology aims at bringing the agriculture and rural development framework in Moldova into compliance the EU standards and norms. According to Deputy Agriculture Minister Iurie Usurelu, putting into practice the methodology will guarantee a high level of consumers’ protection, efficient work of the milk market, transparent operation of milk-processing companies and efficient management of milk imports. The responsibility for putting the methodology into practice has been imposed on the National Food Safety Agency. Milk producers will have 24 months to meet the new requirements.
