Ukraine’s state ammonia transportation firm Ukrkhimstransammiak and Russian chemicals producer TogliattiAzot may sign an agreement to resume transit of TogliattiAzot’s ammonia via Ukraine after the New Year holidays, First Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv said.
“Regarding Transammiak – the limit was reached this year, so, correspondingly, an agreement on restoration of this work should be signed right after the New Year holidays”, he said.
On December 26, TogliattiAzot said that Ukrkhimstransammiak halted transit of its ammonia on December 23, and rejected the company’s request to increase the pumping quota until the end of 2016.
In November, the High Administrative Court of Ukraine settled a claim by TogliattiAzot and voided an order of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry to introduce a markup for transit supplies of ammonia via Ukraine, canceling decisions of two lower courts.
The company cancelled the transit markup of more than $8 per ton of ammonia, which had been in effect for more than a year, TogliattiAzot said then. (Prime/Business World Magazine)
