According to the State Statistics Service, in January-September Ukraine exported agricultural products valued at $10.4 billion, or 40.2% of the general national exports, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine declared.
In particular, grain crops ($4.2 billion, or 16.4% of the general agricultural exports), food preparations ($1.6 billion, or 6.2%), fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin ($2.7 billion, or 10.6%) took the leading share in the structure of agricultural exports from Ukraine. According to the announcement, in the reporting period Ukraine exported live animals and products of animal origin valued at $0.5 billion, or 2.1% of the general agricultural supplies, and plant growing products – at $5.5 billion, or 21.3%.
At the same time, Ukraine imported agricultural products valued at $2.78 billion, or 10% of the general imports to the country. In the same period of 2015, Ukraine imported agricultural products at $2.5 billion only.
As a result, in January-September the balance of foreign trade with agricultural products totaled +$7.6 billion. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
