The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft will use a new technology of its own design to rack up oil extraction in Ukraine, the company’s press service reported.
In line with the agreement with the Ukrainian company Universal Drilling Technique (aka UniDrillTech) Belarusian specialists intend to carry out five special operations using the technology that has been successfully tested and patented under the SKIF abbreviation. The technology is designed to increase oil recovery and reach for difficult oil reserves.
The technology provides for drilling filtration channels up to 100 m long at the right angle to the well shaft. The approach increases drainage area and can connect remote parts of the oil-bearing stratum with the well shaft, thus increasing oil recovery. The technology increases penetration of non-uniform and low-permeability layers and secures better oil recovery as a result.
Russian companies have also demonstrated their interest in the new technology. Belorusneft intends to carry out the relevant operations to introduce the technology at ten sites of the Russian oil extraction company Bashneft. The technology will be applied to another ten well shafts of the Russian company in 2017.
The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas extraction in Belarus and a number of other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
