Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed the prospects of further expansion of partnership with Erol Tabanca, the head of Turkish Polimeks company, and Ahmet Calik, the head of Calik Holding, in Ashgabat.
In particular, the issue of constructing the facilities of the Olympic Village by Polimeks in Ashgabat was discussed. The fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games will be held there in autumn 2017.
President Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of the construction of the largest sports complex, unique in the region.
In his turn, Calik talked about the progress of joint projects, namely, the construction of the carbamide production plant in Garabogaz city of the Turkmen Balkan region and a combined steam-gas power plant in the provincial center of Mary province.
Turkish companies are implementing 1,580 projects in such sectors of Turkmenistan as transport, fuel and energy complex, communications, agriculture, construction, trade, water resources management.
Some 562 enterprises with Turkish capital have been registered in Turkmenistan.
According to official Ashgabat, the volume of foreign trade between Turkmenistan and Turkey amounted to $5.5 billion in 2015.
Electricity, polymers, propylene, oil and oil products, cotton yarn and textiles are exported to Turkey.
In its turn, Turkmenistan buys technical equipment and consumer goods. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
