Belarus’ trade turnover with Poland grew by 10% in January-August, the Belarusian government said in a press-release following the latest meeting of the Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov and Poland’s Vice Premier Mateusz Morawiecki.
While meeting with the Polish vice premier, Kobyakov suggested that the parties should go further than just expanding export/import transactions and start promoting production cooperation and commercial partnership.
Kobyakov referred to successful examples of cooperation between Polish companies and Belarus (Atlas, Unibep, cooperation with Polish banks and insurance companies). Belarusian companies are involved in promising projects in Poland (MAZ bus assembly production).
Kobyakov said Belarus would be interested in inviting Polish investors to help modernize Belarus’ agribusiness industries.
Belarus’ government suggests the parties should decide on growth areas in order to further increase mutual turnover of commodities.
Mateusz Morawiecki said he hoped the current visit would help both countries activate mutual partnership. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
