As of October 18, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 48.73 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 11.741 million ha, or 82% of the plan. The average yield totaled 4.15 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported t. At the same time, on the same date last year the production volumes reached 50.6 million tons.
In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 9.854 million tons of the grain throughout 1.75 million ha (41%). The average yield reached 5.63 ton/ha.
Ukraine harvested 183 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 144 thousand ha (96%). The average yield totaled 1.27 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 101 thousand ha (97%). The production volumes totaled 183 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.82 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 10.568 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 4.82 million ha (81%), with the average yield of 2.19 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 2.918 million tons of the oilseed throughout the areas of 1.345 million ha (73%), with the average yield of 2.17 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued realizing the planting campaign of winter grains. As of October 18, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 5.422 million ha (74% of the plan), down by 322 thousand ha YoY.
In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 4.894 million ha (79%), winter rye – 142 thousand ha (97%), and winter barley – 386 thousand ha (38%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 769 thousand ha (106%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
