OAO Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ, managing company at BelavtoMAZ Group) will supply 4,000 completely knocked down kits (CKD kits) for the needs of a Belarus-Vietnam joint venture to Vietnam on a duty-free basis till 2021.
CKD kits will be supplied in the light of the protocol on joint production of motor vehicles on the territory of Vietnam. The document was signed by the governments of Belarus and Vietnam in May and came into effect on October 5.
The document authorized MAZ to set up one joint venture to produce trucks and one joint venture for producing buses (with 10 or more passenger seats).
MAZ, the country’s largest OAO, is fully owned by the Belarusian government. The enterprise produces all-wheel drive trucks, log trucks, dump trucks, cranes on truck chassis, trailers and semitrailers, custom-made vehicles, buses. (Prime-TASS/Business World Magazine)
