The further inflow rate of German investments in Ukraine’s economy will directly depend on the pace of economic reforms in Ukraine.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ukraine Ernst Reichel has stated this during the opening ceremony of the Ukrainian-German Business Forum.
“We cannot force our companies to enter Ukraine and start working here. The rate of investment inflow from Germany to Ukraine will directly depend on the pace of reforms and how the Ukrainian government and general public work on that”, Reichel said.
According to him, Germany is Ukraine’s third partner in terms of investments totaling $5.4 billion annually.
In addition, Reichel praised the Ukrainian government for deregulation, decentralization and energy efficiency reforms.
“However, you should combat corruption more actively to provide a level playing field for all business participants”, Reichel noted. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
