Car producer GAZ Group has signed several memorandums with Kazakhstan’s Semipalatinsky car assembling plant (SemAZ) to organize local assembly of its vehicles, the Russian company said in a statement.
“The supply of car kits for mass production of GAZelle Next, GAZon Next and GAZelle Business, and heavy-duty equipment Ural Next, small, medium and heavy-duty buses will begin in 2017”, GAZ Group said.
According to the company, test supplies of car components began in September.
Kazakhstan introduced recycling and registration taxes on all imported cars in 2016, and Russian car producers changed their exports strategies with AvtoVAZ shifting to car component supplies to a joint venture in the Kazakh city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. (Prime/Business World Magazine)
