As of October 3, winter crops had been sown at 3616 thousand ha, or 49% of the intended area – 7374 thousand ha.
This included 3355 thousand ha of winter wheat and triticale (54% from the planned 6198 thousand ha), 114 thousand ha of rye (77% of 147 thousand ha), and 147 thousand ha of barley (14% of 1028 thousand ha).
Sowing campaign lags behind the last year’s pace. On October 3, 2015 about 3953 thousand ha had been sown with winter crops. Moreover, Ukrainian farmers continue grain harvesting. (UkrAgroConsult/Business World Magazine)
