As of September 26, Ukrainian agrarians harvested 41.955 million tons of grains throughout the areas of 10.603 million ha, or 74% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.96 ton/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported. At the same time, on the same date last year production volumes reached 40.9 million tons.
In particular, agrarians continued harvesting corn. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 3.174 million tons of the grain throughout 642 thousand ha (15%). The average yield reached 4.94 ton/ha.
Also, Ukraine harvested 166 thousand tons of buckwheat throughout 131 thousand ha (88%). The average yield totaled 1.26 ton/ha. Agrarians harvested millet throughout 96 thousand ha (93%). The production volumes totaled 175 thousand tons, with the yield of 1.82 ton/ha.
Agricultural enterprises of Ukraine harvested 6.758 million tons of sunflower seed throughout 3.161 million ha (53%), with the average yield of 2.14 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans. Agrarians harvested 1.739 million tons of the oilseed throughout the areas of 824 thousand ha (45%), with the average yield of 2.11 ton/ha.
Ukraine continued carrying out the planting campaign of winter grains. As of September 26, agrarians planted winter grains throughout 2.158 million ha (29% of the plan), down by 846 thousand ha YoY.
In particular, Ukraine planted winter wheat and triticale throughout 2.024 million ha (33%), winter rye – 79 thousand ha (54%), and winter barley – 55 thousand ha (5%). Also, Ukraine planted winter rapeseed throughout 683 thousand ha (94%). (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
