Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR will additionally produce about 5,480 tons of oil per year thanks to the commissioning of three new wells, which are being drilled at offshore fields Pirallahi-deniz and Darwin Bank, as well as the Saadan onshore field, SOCAR said.
The projected depth of the well #1155 at the Pirallahi-deniz field is 770 meters, the well #767 at the Darwin Bank – 1,490 meters, and the well at the Saadan field – 1,300 meters.
The daily rate flow of each well will be 4-5 tons, according to geological estimates.
The work is being carried out by SOCAR’s Complex Drilling Works Trust, which is implementing the program to stabilize and increase oil output.
The company produced 4.42 million tons of oil at offshore and onshore fields in January-July as compared to 4.84 million tons in January-July 2015.
SOCAR produced 8.16 million tons of oil in 2015 compared to 8.32 million tons in 2014. In total, 41.59 million tons of oil was produced in Azerbaijan in 2015, compared to 42.02 million tons in 2014, according to SOCAR. (Trend/Business World Magazine)
