Uzbekistan Havo Yollari (Uzbekistan Airways) will start exploitation of the first airplane Boeing 787 Dreamliner from September.
According to the airline, the company holds preparation to exploitation of two airplanes of Boeing 787 Dreamliner model, first of which will arrive in Uzbekistan in August.
Dreamliner will be a gift for the anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence. From September, Uzbekistan Havo Yollari can use services of Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the airline added.
New aircraft will be used for long-range international flights. The aircraft can carry out flights on route Tashkent-New York without stopovers.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size wide-body, twin-engine jet airliner developed by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It seats 210 to 290 passengers, depending on the variant.
Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Boeing signed a contract on purchase of two airlines of Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner and additional engine.
The cost of the contract is $246.4 million. The Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (FRDU) issued a loan for $223.2 million to finance the contract. (UzDaily/Business World Magazine)
