On July 4 to 17, the Arkhangelsk Branch Ice Pilots escorted a caravan consisting of 15 vessels of the Jan De Nul company dredger fleet to the Gulf of Ob of the Kara Sea, says Rosmorport.
The icebreaker escort distance amounted to 1200 nautical miles.
The Point of Destination of these dredgers was the seaport of Sabetta. The safely arrived in the seaport vessels will be carrying out dredging works in the water area of the Gulf of Ob until October this year.
Presence of ice pilot on board of the vessel ensures safest and most confident navigation performed by vessels’ masters, as in this period of time there is ice brush at the entrance to the Gulf of Ob. (Portnews/Business World Magazine)
