Belarusian agrarians have cropped the first million tons of grain, the Agriculture and Food Ministry said.
As of July 25, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 1.1 million tons. Gomel Oblast harvested 383,600 tons, Brest Oblast – 296,700 tons. Minsk Oblast and Mogilev Oblast harvested 259,900 and 72,900 tons respectively. The harvest of Grodno Oblast agrarians reached 105,400 tons, Vitebsk Oblast – 14,600 tons. A total of 15.3% of grain and leguminous cropping lands have been processed in the country. As of today, Gomel Oblast is the leader: the region has cropped 37% of the total area. This year, the average yield makes up 33.5 hundredweight per hectare, up by 3.4 hundredweight YoY. (BelTA/Business World Magazine)
