On December 24, 2016 – January 6, Ukraine exported grain at rather record rates, despite the New Year holiday factor.
In the reporting period the export volumes of three major grain crops from Ukraine reached 1.5 million tons, including wheat – 491 thousand tons, corn – 968 thousand tons, and barley – 32 thousand tons.
In July-December 2016 grain exports from Ukraine exceeded 22 million tons, up by 1% YoY (21.8 million tons). The volume already formed 58% of the export potential of the Ukrainian grain market, which analysts forecast at the level of 38.1 million tons. In particular, the export potential of wheat totals 15 million tons, barley – 5 million tons, and corn – 17.3 million tons. (APK-Inform/Business World Magazine)
