The first quantities of early Moldovan plums, from the 2022 harvest, were exported during July, the Moldova Fruit Association announced.
According to the Association, more than 3,400 tons of plums reached consumers in 11 countries of the world: Germany, Austria, Poland, Holland, Romania, Russia, etc.
“During the same period last year, a little over a thousand tons of plums were exported. Mass deliveries will begin in the next period, when the Stanley and President varieties will be harvested,” indicates Moldova Fruct.
The European Commission has increased for the Republic of Moldova, for one year, the amount of plums that can be traded without customs duties in the European Union, from 15 thousand to 40 thousand tons.
