Customs Service revenues to the state budget amounted to more than 555 million lei on January 31 – February 6, up by 12.6% than the amount planned for this period.
“Over the past week, the number of passengers entering the Republic of Moldova was over 62,000. Of these, 1,374 individuals declared various goods, making payments amounting to 3.6% of the total amount collected for that period,” indicates the Customs Service.
The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
Also, on January 31 – February 6, 12,250 customs declarations were made, and the flow of means of transport constituted 47,167 crossings. The busiest customs posts remain Leuseni and Sculeni, with 10,918 and 8,179 crossings, respectively.
In combating fraud, 162 violations of customs legislation were found during the period in question and fines amounting to over 234 thousand lei were applied. The most frequent violations refer to the exceeding of the term on the territory of Moldova of the means of transport with foreign numbers, declared by action. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
