The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has officially registered 23 debt collection companies, according to the NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko.
“The National Bank initiated “tectonic” changes in the debt collection market. For the first time, in 2021, Ukraine introduced a legal framework for regulating the relations of debt collection companies and financial institutions in settling overdue debts on consumer loans. To provide debt collection services, the company must be registered by the NBU. Only companies registered and verified by the National Bank will have the right to provide consumer credit debt settlement services for the benefit of other persons. To date, 23 debt collection companies are registered in Ukraine,” Shevchenko wrote on his Facebook page. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
