In January-July the port of Rostov-on-Don handled 9,794,000 tons of cargo (up by 16.2% YoY), Harbour Master Pavel Zakharchenko said.
Transshipment of crude and oil products climbed by 29.4% to 3,731,000 tons, grain – by 38.7% to 2,339,000 tons, coal and coke – by 25.4% to 837,000 tons, metal scrap – by 19.7% to 672,000 tons. Transshipment of non-grain bulk cargo fell by 10.1% to 1,600,000 tons, general cargo – by 25.9% to 259,000 tons, liquid bulk food- by 9.2% to 232,000 tons.
In the reported period, loading increased by 31.6% to 6,673,000 tons, transit – by 0.7% to 2,674,000 tons. Unloading fell by 32% to 478,000 tons.
The number of incoming/outgoing vessels increased to 3,159/3,212 against 2,998/3,055 a year ago.
Bunkering at the port of Rostov-on-Don increased by 84% to 62,900 tons. (Portnews/Business World Magazine)
