Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany) served 130.8 thousand passengers in February, up by 51.6% YoY, the airport’s press service reports.
The number of passengers served on international flights totaled 124.9 thousand, domestic flights – 5.9 thousand.
The number of flights in February included 1,648 both arrivals and departures, up by 20.5% YoY (of which there were 1,356 international flights and 292 domestic flights).
“Most of the flights to Kyiv Airport were performed by Wizz Air, which operates flights from the capital of Ukraine to 10 European countries in 21 directions,” head of the airport’s press service Halyna Bohdanenko said.
The most popular international destinations in February were Dubai (UAE), Minsk (Belarus), Ankara (Turkey), Warsaw (Poland), Budapest (Hungary), Memmingen (Germany), Rome (Italy). Among domestic flights, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia and Lviv were in the lead.
Bohdanenko also added that new charter flights were planned to be launched from Kyiv International Airport in April. In particular, this will be charter flights from the first Ukrainian budget Sky Up airline and a new flight Kyiv – Bologna (Italy) from the Ernest airline. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
