Lithuania recorded one of the highest annual inflation rates in the European Union in March, according to data released by Eurostat.
Harmonised annual inflation in Lithuania stood at 4.4%, placing it among the bloc’s highest. Only Croatia, at 4.6%, and Romania, at 9%, recorded faster price growth.
In the Baltic States, annual inflation reached 3.4% in Latvia and 3.5% in Estonia.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices in Lithuania rose by 1.5% in March. Prices increased by 1.9% in Latvia, while remaining unchanged in Estonia.
Across the European Union, annual inflation averaged 2.8%, while the rate in the eurozone stood at 2.6%.
Month-on-month, prices rose by 1.1% in the EU and 1.3% in the eurozone, according to Eurostat. (LRT)
