The Government has approved a draft new European-style Customs Code. This is one of the key steps toward Ukraine’s accession to the EU and the fulfillment of our commitments within the membership negotiation process. This was emphasized by the Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The Head of the Government accentuated that the adopted code was fully aligned with the EU Customs Code and introduced customs rules that were uniform with those of the European Union.
“These are new approaches to customs procedures, authorizations, guarantees, declarations, and duty exemptions. For Ukrainian businesses, this means clearer and more predictable rules, faster adaptation to the European market, simplified logistics, and new opportunities for trade with EU member states,” Yulia Svyrydenko stated.
At the same time, as the official noted, business and citizens could expect continuity in these processes: existing authorizations would remain valid, and the “single window” system would operate as usual. (Government portal)
