Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine Valentyna Moskalenko held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece for Economic Diplomacy Haris Theocharis. Representatives of state-owned energy companies of Ukraine and Greek business also took part in the meeting.
The participants discussed the priorities of restoring and modernizing Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, the current needs of the sector, as well as the possibilities of expanding cooperation between Ukrainian companies and Greek partners. Particular attention was paid to the development of generation, in particular distributed generation, hydropower and projects in the gas sector.
During the meeting, the participants focused on the transition to the practical implementation of joint initiatives. In particular, the topic was the preparation of specific projects that can be presented at international platforms, as well as attracting financing from international financial institutions.
Valentina Moskalenko thanked the Greek partners for the systematic support of Ukraine and the active participation of Greek companies in cooperation with Ukrainian energy enterprises.
“We highly appreciate the support of Greece and the interest of its companies in working in Ukraine. It is important for us not only to maintain this cooperation, but also to move on to the implementation of specific projects that will strengthen the sustainability of the energy sector and contribute to its restoration,” the Deputy Minister noted.
She emphasized that attracting investments and developing partnerships with international business were critically important for preparing for the next heating season and the long-term development of the energy sector.
Haris Theocharis confirmed Greece’s interest in further developing cooperation with Ukraine, in particular in implementing joint projects in the energy sector and attracting investments. (Energy Ministry)
