876.5 million UAH – that’s how much was collected from the budget thanks to the new automated tax debt collection system. This was reported on her Facebook page by the Acting Head of the State Tax Service Lesya Karnaukh.
The system started operating in August 2025. During this time, funds were written off from more than 8.7 thousand taxpayers.
“Since the beginning of 2026 alone, UAH 323.1 million has already been collected from 3.9 thousand taxpayers to repay tax debt. This is UAH 162 million more than in the same period of 2025, and 3.1 times higher than last year’s figure,” she added.
This was made possible thanks to the established electronic interaction between the State Tax Service, the State Treasury Service of Ukraine and payment service providers.
“Everything is automated, without additional intervention. If there are funds on the debtor’s account, the write-off occurs almost instantly – without delays and unnecessary procedures,” Lesya Karnaukh noted.
Everything works transparently, quickly and exclusively within the framework of the law. The mechanism is applied only after the debt is agreed and the payer had every opportunity to pay it voluntarily.
The automated collection system applies only to legal entities. The issue of debts of individuals and sole proprietors is regulated by other legislation and falls within the competence of the State Enforcement Service.
Previously, the process of collecting tax debts could take much longer due to the need to prepare paper documents. It was often delayed due to technical or organizational difficulties. Now the system minimizes such risks and ensures maximum efficiency.
“The tax system is changing, modernizing. We are introducing transparent rules, digital solutions and a minimum of human intervention,” the head of the State Tax Service emphasized. (State Tax Service)
