The Government is expanding support for internally displaced persons-changes have been made to the provision of housing assistance. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
Three important steps have been taken to support IDPs:
– Extending the duration of payments. Now, the most vulnerable categories of displaced persons shall be eligible to receive state support for another six months;
– Increasing support for children among IDPs. Regardless of family income, payments shall be made from February 1, provided the application is submitted until May 1;
– Updating the review of payments for IDPs unable to work. This applies to those whose living allowance payments were previously suspended due to exceeding the income threshold. Due to the increase in the subsistence minimum, such individuals can now submit documents for a review.
“If an application is submitted until May 1, payments will be calculated starting from January 1. If the application is submitted later, payments will be calculated starting from the month the application is submitted,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko. (Government portal)
