First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with the Swedish Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Oberg, during which they discussed the current state of cooperation in the energy sector and further directions for its expansion.
Denys Shmyhal expressed gratitude to the Government of Sweden for adopting an additional support package of 1 billion Swedish kronor (about 93 million euros), which would be aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s energy sustainability.
“In total, more than 225 shipments of critical energy equipment with a total weight of over 2,170 tons have already been delivered to Ukraine from Sweden. Thank you,” said the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy.
During the meeting, the parties paid special attention to the implementation of international technical assistance projects and the prospects for their expansion, in particular, they discussed the accelerated deployment of distributed and flexible generation, strengthening integration with the European energy system, targeted investments in renewable and hybrid energy, as well as further support for nuclear safety and the protection of critical infrastructure.
“I thank the Swedish Government and people for their solidarity. We look forward to continuing close cooperation in the energy sector,” added Denys Shmyhal. (Energy Ministry)
