In 2025, Russians began saving on purchasing medications: the actual selling price of 70 popular drugs in pharmacies turned out to be lower than the average market value of medicines. This was shown by a study by Points Health, the results of which are cited by “Izvestia”.
According to the company’s CEO, Daria Solovyeva, buyers have started monitoring promotions in pharmacies, switching to discount stores, and choosing the optimal price-quality ratio. “It’s important for them not to overpay,” noted Solovyeva, recalling the rapid rise in drug prices and the fall in real incomes of the population.
According to data from Points Health, which studied sales statistics in 38,000 pharmacies, on average, drug prices in 2025 increased by 7-11%, but some groups of drugs rose in price much more significantly. For example, hormonal, oncological, and immunomodulating drugs became 22% more expensive, and anti-infective drugs – 15% more expensive (The Moscow Times).
