As soon as this year, Ukraine is launching a new electronic system that will be used by producers and importers to add full information about each beauty product.
The relevant statement was made by Director of Electronic Health State Enterprise (EZdorovya) Oleksandr Yemets during eHealth Day.
“The electronic information notification system on beauty products is a European integration requirement and a step towards building a transparent and safe cosmetics market in Ukraine in accordance with European standards. We are bringing our registers and systems into compliance with EU standards. This will make it easier for Ukrainian cosmetics manufacturers to enter the European market, as they will be standardized in accordance with EU requirements and regulations,” Yemets said.
In his words, previously, Ukraine did not have a single database that would collect information about all beauty products on the market. In particular, creams, shampoos, lipsticks, and other products simply ended up on store shelves without centralized accounting, which made it difficult to control the quality and safety of products.
According to Yemets, with the launch of the electronic information notification system on beauty products, each product will have a so-called “electronic passport”. Producers will have to add each of their products to this system before they reach customers.
In the future, health institutions will be provided with information on the presence of ingredients in a beauty product that could have caused an adverse reaction/allergy, etc.
From 2026, Ukraine will launch a program of preventive medical examinations for people aged 40 and above to detect dangerous diseases at an early stage. (Ukrinform)
