The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has updated the mechanism of state support for farmers using reclaimed land in frontline territories. The corresponding resolution No. 930 “On Amendments to the Procedure for Using Funds Planned in the State Budget for Agriculture to Provide State Support to Commodity Producers Using Reclaimed Land and Water Use Organizations” was adopted at a regular meeting.
“The Government has adopted an extremely important decision to support agricultural producers. As a result of the war, in particular the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant, as well as drought in the south and east, farmers in several regions of Ukraine are experiencing significant damage and crop losses. Therefore, financial support from the state budget for the restoration and construction of the hydraulic infrastructure of irrigation systems will increase the area of irrigation and reduce risks during the irrigation season,” said Oleksii Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture of Ukraine.
Now, agricultural producers and water user organizations operating on irrigated land in frontline territories will be eligible for state support:
– Agricultural producers who use reclaimed land – up to 50% of expenses (no more than UAH 26,500) per hectare of cultivated land for the reconstruction or construction of irrigation systems, carried out between November 1, 2024 and October 31, 2025;
– Water use organizations – up to 50% of the cost of reconstruction and major repairs of pumping stations that are put into operation between November 1, 2024 and October 31, 2025.
Applications will be accepted through the State Agrarian Register. The start of the application process for support will be announced on the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture website. (Government portal)
