The Government has introduced one-time financial assistance for young medics who choose to work in rural areas or combat zones. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Cabinet meeting on May 30.
Specifically, a resolution was adopted to provide one-time financial aid to graduates of medical higher education institutions who, upon completing their studies, decide to work in healthcare facilities in rural areas or in regions with active hostilities. Under the decision, young doctors will receive a payment of UAH 200,000.
Denys Shmyhal emphasised that this initiative aimed not only to support young professionals but also to address the shortage of medical staff in local healthcare facilities.
“Alongside security and defence, investment in human capital is a cross-cutting policy of the Government and the state,” the Prime Minister underscored. (Government portal)
