On March 28, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held the first online conversation with Chancellor of Austria Christian Stocker.
The parties focused on support programmes for Ukraine, European integration, sanctions and economic cooperation between the two countries. Denys Shmyhal commended the active cooperation with Austrian businesses and their significant contribution to supporting the Ukrainian economy.
The Prime Minister also thanked for the financial assistance Ukraine receives under the EU’s Ukraine Facility programme.
“This is a strong anchor to guarantee our macro-financial stability and it helps to implement reforms on the path to membership,” said Denys Shmyhal, adding that this year Ukraine planned to start negotiations on six clusters with the EU and counted on Austria’s support in this process.
During the conversation, the officials focused on the issue of establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. The Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing to put pressure on russia on all international platforms, including by strengthening sanctions. (Government portal)
