The state has paid UAH 224 million to employers under the compensation programme for the employment of 11,300 internally displaced persons since the beginning of 2024. This was announced by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“Since the beginning of this year, more than 8,000 employers have received compensation from the Government for the employment of 11,300 Ukrainians who were forced to move from the dangerous regions of the country. More than four hundred of those employed are people with disabilities. A total of UAH 224 million was transferred to entrepreneurs under the compensation programme. Through this programme, we are helping internally displaced persons to find employment and adapt to their new place of residence as quickly as possible,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The amount of compensation paid to an employer for the employment of a person who received IDP status after February 24, 2022 is currently UAH 8,000. To receive the money, the employer must conclude an employment contract (including a part-time contract), a gig contract with an internally displaced person and apply for compensation through the Diia portal or in paper form at the employment centre along with a package of necessary documents.
