In June, farmers received UAH 18.6 million in compensation for May for the purchase of domestically produced agricultural machinery. The Ministry of Economy approved the relevant order under the 25% partial compensation programme for locally produced agricultural machinery and equipment, which is part of the “Made in Ukraine” policy. This was stated by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“Agrarians are active users of the state support, which refunds 25% of the cost of agricultural machinery purchased from Ukrainian producers. Already in May, 93 agricultural enterprises and farms applied for compensation. We hope that by resuming this budget programme, farmers will have an opportunity to upgrade their machinery fleet and Ukrainian machine building will get a boost through stimulating demand for Ukrainian products,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
During the reporting period, the largest number of applications for compensation for purchased agricultural machinery and equipment was submitted in Cherkasy – 13 (for 15 units), Poltava – 21 (for 34 units), Ternopil – 7 (for 7 units), Dnipro – 6 (for 6 units), Zhytomyr – 5 (for 8 units), Kirovohrad – 5 (for 8 units) and Sumy – 5 (for 7 units).
In total, during the two months of the programme, agricultural enterprises purchased 130 units of machinery and equipment made in Ukraine for UAH 90.4 million.
To benefit from the state support programme and to receive 25% compensation for the cost of purchased machinery or equipment, an agricultural producer must choose a supplier from the List on the Ministry of Economy’s website, purchase the necessary equipment and submit an application and supporting documents to an authorised bank. As of today, the List of Ukrainian machinery and equipment for the agricultural sector, the cost of which is partially compensated by the budget, includes 7,878 nomenclature items of machinery and equipment from 86 Ukrainian manufacturers. The list is constantly updated in accordance with applications received by the Ministry.
Manufacturers wishing to submit their equipment to the list should email the Ministry of Economy. The list of machinery and equipment is updated regularly, after verification of the degree of localisation of machinery and equipment production based on the application submitted by the manufacturer and relevant documents. The criteria for determining the compliance of a manufacturer of agricultural machinery and equipment are specified in paragraphs 6-7 of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 130 dated March 1, 2017 (as amended).
