The Government has provided an opportunity for enterprises to cover their electricity needs using imports. This, in particular, will allow businesses to avoid potential restrictions on consumption. This was emphasised by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.
The Energy Minister noted that in the context of regular russian attacks on the energy sector, the ministry was working to increase the capacity to import electricity from European countries beyond the current 1.7 GW.
“But there are hours when we do not use these imports in full. That is why we are now working with enterprises and businesses for them to contract electricity imports to the maximum, thereby guaranteeing electricity supply and strengthening the resilience of the power system,” he explained.
The minister stressed that the relevant experience was applied in 2022-2023.
“We urge businesses to use import opportunities so that we increase the volume of electricity in the country,” the minister explained. (Government portal)
