The state has invested UAH 7 billion in the development of small and medium-sized businesses through grants since the launch of the Government’s eRobota grant programme. More than 13,000 Ukrainians have already received grants to start or expand their own business. This was reported by Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.
“More than 13,000 Ukrainians have received financial support from the state in the form of grants to start or expand their businesses under the eRobota project. In total, the state has invested UAH 7 billion in entrepreneurship development through grants since July 2022. These are investments in opening thousands of new businesses, scaling up the business of existing companies that have increased production volumes and product range, ventured into new areas and opened additional production lines. It is also an investment in creating more than 40,000 new jobs for our citizens in all regions of the country,” said Yuliia Svyrydenko.
In total, since the launch of the eRobota project in July 2022:
– 12,227 microgrants worth UAH 2.9 billion were issued under the Vlasna Sprava (Own Business) programme;
– 660 grants worth UAH 3.3 billion were issued for the development of processing enterprises;
– 157 grants worth UAH 705 million were issued for horticulture and greenhouse development;
– 222 grants worth UAH 90 million were issued to veterans and their families.
Both existing entrepreneurs and people with no business experience can apply for a grant. Applications are submitted through the Diia portal along with a business plan. A prerequisite for receiving a grant is the creation of new jobs – from 1-2 in the case of a microgrant to several dozen in the case of grants under other programmes. The grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes and fees paid in the course of the company’s operations over three years.
The eRobota project was launched by the Government in July 2022 to support businesses and stimulate job creation. It includes several grant programmes. These include microgrants for starting or developing a business, grants for veterans and their spouses, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises and grants for orchards, vineyards and greenhouses.
