Last year, more than 300,000 new individual entrepreneurs and more than 37,000 new companies were registered in Ukraine.
This is reported by the Opendatabot.
“304,048 new registrations of individual entrepreneurs were recorded in Ukraine as of December 29, 2023. The number of new businesses exceeded the figures for 2021 by 7%,” the statement said.
The most popular sectors among new individual entrepreneurs in 2023 were retail trade, IT, other personal services, wholesale trade, food and beverage services.
Among the new individual entrepreneurs providing individual services, hairdressing and beauty salons were the most popular – 18,059 new businesses.
Kyiv was the leader in the number of new registrations of individual entrepreneurs – 14.18% of new cases. Dnipropetrovsk (8.97%) and Lviv regions (7.73%) ranked second and third in terms of the number of new entrepreneurs.
Unlike individual entrepreneurs, new companies are not opened as often and have not yet reached the indicators of the beginning of the full-scale invasion. 37,297 new companies were opened in 2023. This is a third less than in 2021, when 56,267 new businesses were registered.
The most popular areas for new companies were wholesale trade, NGOs and social assistance.
Similar to the case of individual entrepreneurs, most new companies were registered in the capital, Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv regions. These three regions account for almost half of the new business registrations. (Ukrinform/Business World Magazine)
