The coming months offer hope for a stabilisation of inflation in Poland, Andrzej Domanski, the minister of finance, has said.
“The bane of the Polish economy has been very high inflation in 2022 and 2023,” the minister said in parliament on December 21.
“In 2022, it averaged 14.4%, and this year it would be around 11.5%. The coming months give hope that the situation will stabilise in this regard,” he added.
According to the draft budget for 2024, CPI inflation next year will be 6.6%. However, the Ministry of Finance is being cautious with its predictions.
“Uncertainty about the forecasts in this regard is high, which is reflected in the relatively large range of fluctuations in market forecasts,” Domanski stressed.
In the 2024 budget bill adopted on December 19, the government assumed an average annual CPI of 6.6% and GDP growth of 3%. (PAP/Business World Magazine)
