Moldova will conclude a new defense cooperation agreement with France. The members of the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration approved the opinion to initiate negotiations.
The initiative belonged to France and was expressed after the second Summit of the European Political Community 2023 was held in Chisinau.
In 1998, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova signed an agreement in the same field with the Ministry of Defense of France. It currently does not cover the entire spectrum of aspects of cooperation and, in this context, it is proposed to initiate a new agreement.
The new document aims to set and develop advantageous cooperation for both France and the Republic of Moldova. The agreement will include collaboration in areas such as defense policy and planning, reform of the armed forces, exchange of experience. Under the new agreement, the authorities will draw up a bilateral cooperation plan every year. The agreement will be concluded for an indefinite period. (Moldpres/Business World Magazine)
