Ukraine will be able to pass the coming winter heating season relying exclusively on domestically produced gas, Naftogaz CEO Oleksiy Chernyshov has announced.
“I would like to underline that we are increasing domestic gas production and volumes are growing. In 2023, Naftogaz completed a record number of new wells; we will continue with this trend next year. We plan to get through this winter relying on gas produced in Ukraine, and our calculations confirm this possibility,” commented Chernyshov.
The Naftogaz CEO is also convinced that the heating season will go smoothly, not only in terms of gas supply, but also in terms of the unchanged costs of natural gas for the population.
“We are confident about the coming winter season. We have enough gas and tariffs are stable. I ask all consumers to ensure energy-efficient measures and treat energy resources responsibly. Domestic Ukrainian production is our common achievement,” Chernyshov stressed. (Naftogaz/Business World Magazine)
