Last week, 486 entrepreneurs received loans totalling UAH 1.8 billion under the Government’s Affordable Loans at 5-7-9% programme. Since the beginning of 2023, banks have granted 14,000 loans worth UAH 50 billion to businesses. Since the start of the programme in February 2020, 67,400 loans worth UAH 217.5 billion have been disbursed.
Most of the loans were for anti-crisis purposes (UAH 61 billion) and for anti-war purposes (UAH 54.2 billion). UAH 28.5 billion was disbursed to refinance previously obtained loans, UAH 20.2 billion to replenish working capital, and UAH 15.4 billion for investment purposes. In addition, agricultural enterprises received UAH 33 billion in loans to support their operations, and trading companies borrowed UAH 3.2 billion to replenish working capital.
The most frequent borrowers under the programme are enterprises operating in the following sectors: agriculture (53%), trade and manufacturing (25%) and industrial processing (13%).
Among the regions, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia regions and the city of Kyiv are the leaders in terms of loan agreement amounts.
To date, 45 banks are participating in the programme, with Privatbank (30,500), Oschadbank (10,100) and Raiffeisen Bank Aval (5,300) lending the most. (Government portal/Business World Magazine)
