European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni will pay a visit to Moldova on July 6-7, government spokesperson Daniel Voda has announced.
In Chisinau, Paolo Gentiloni will have meetings with the President Maia Sandu, Speaker Igor Grosu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization.
“The European official also has other meetings on his agenda that will certainly be communicated in the coming days,” said Daniel Voda.
“Closer cooperation with the EU in economic terms will be the subject of the discussions of the Moldovan officials with Paolo Gentiloni, the European Commissioner for the Economy, who will pay a visit to our country. The discussions are expected to focus on the progress regarding macro-financial assistance, and the ways in which the Republic of Moldova and the European Union can intensify their economic cooperation and the possibilities of supporting our country in consolidating the economy, in the context of the difficult geopolitical situation and of the impact of the war in the neighboring state,” Daniel Voda said.
